I grew up in South Florida, the son of a small business owner and a teacher. Following high school I received a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Florida State University, with an emphasis on pre-law.

The summer after my junior year I interned in the consumer protection department of a major television station. I helped investigate numerous complaints of consumer fraud, dangerous products, and shady business deals. My involvement with these investigations convinced me to become an attorney because I recognized that people often find themselves in difficult situations they did not cause and that they need an aggressive, experienced advocate to protect their rights. I graduated from FSU in 1998.

Following graduation from Florida State I returned to South Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center. In addition to my studies I volunteered at the local Legal Aid office, as well as the Broward County Attorney. I assisted with consumer disputes, employment discrimination, and contract disputes. I graduated in 2001 with the highest level of pro bono service hours Nova recognized.

I moved to Orlando and began working as an Assistant State Attorney (prosecutor) for the Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange & Osceola Counties) of Florida. Over the next three years I prosecuted thousands of misdemeanors and felonies, and tried dozens of jury trials. My trial experience taught me how to communicate with a jury; develop my direct and cross-examination skills; and exploit the strengths of my case while minimizing the weaknesses.

After the State Attorney's Office I was hired by one of the largest personal injury firms in Central Florida. I spent the next two years counseling clients, litigating cases, and constantly looking for ways to maximize my client's recovery.

I opened Shane E. Fischer, P.A. in 2007 because I wanted to provide my clients with the experience and resources available to the big firms, but with the intimacy and personal attention only a small firm can provide. Since that time I have handled numerous cases from DUI to life felonies.
